Breakfast Casserole

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. sausage
  • 8 slices cubed bread
  • 3/4 lb. grated Cheddar cheese
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 1/4 c. milk
  • 3/4 Tbsp. dry mustard
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 soup can milk
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 (8 oz.) can sliced mushrooms

Directions

    Fry sausage; drain and arrange bread in 9 x 13-inch pan. Place sausage on top, then put cheese on top of sausage.

    Beat eggs with 2 1/4 cups milk and add mushrooms and mustard.

    Pour over sausage and eggs and refrigerate all night.

    Next morning, dilute mushroom soup with milk; pour over top and dot with butter. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.

    (Hot sausage can be used.)
