- 2 c. sifted self-rising flour
- 1 egg
- 2 to 4 Tbsp. melted shortening
- 1 c. sweet milk
Directions

1Mix milk and beaten egg and add dry ingredients.

2Add melted shortening.

3Beat well for only a few seconds.

4Fill greased muffin tins about 1/2 or 2/3 full.

5Bake in moderate oven (375° to 400°) for 20 to 25 minutes.

6May be prepared and refrigerated overnight.

7Serve with plenty of butter.
