  • 1 34 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 12 teaspoon baking soda
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 3 tablespoons butter or 3 tablespoons margarine, melted

Directions

    Sift together flour,sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt into large bowl.

    Combine buttermilk, egg and butter; add to flour mixture and stir just until all ingredients are moistened.

    Fill greased medium muffin tins.

    Bake in 400f oven for 20-25 minutes.

    Serve warm with butter or preserves.
