Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. liquid smoke
  • 1 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1 tsp. onion salt
  • 2 tsp. celery seed
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 3 to 4 lb. well trimmed beef brisket
  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. catsup
  • 1 tsp. mustard
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 3 drops Tabasco sauce
  • dash of nutmeg
  • 1 Tbsp. soy sauce

Directions

    Combine all ingredients (except brisket) and pour over brisket.

    Marinate for several hours (overnight).

    Cover lightly with foil and bake at 300° for 3 to 3 1/2 hours.

    Pour barbecue sauce over brisket; replace foil and bake another hour.
