- 3 1/2 c. chicken broth
- 1 bunch washed and trimmed broccoli
- 3 c. milk
- 1 c. chopped cooked ham
- 1 to 2 tsp. salt
- dash of garlic
- 1 c. light cream
- 1/4 to 1/2 c. butter
- 2 c. shredded Swiss cheese
Directions

1Pour chicken broth in kettle; add broccoli.

2Slow boil until broccoli is just tender (10 to 15 minutes).

3Remove broccoli and set aside.

4To broth, add milk, ham, cream, Swiss cheese and butter.

5Coarsely chop broccoli; add to chowder.

6Cover and simmer 15 minutes.

7Add salt and garlic to taste.

8May add a little cornstarch mixed with broth to soup if a thicker base is desired. Feeds 6 (approximately).
