Broccoli-Ham Soup

Ingredients
- 1/4 c. chopped onion
- 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. instant chicken bouillon granules
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
- 1/2 tsp. dried thyme, crushed
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 2 c. milk
- 2 c. water
- 2 c. broccoli flowerets or frozen, cut broccoli
- 1 1/2 c. cubed, fully cooked ham
Directions

1In a 3-quart saucepan, cook the chopped onion in butter or margarine until tender, but not brown.

2Stir in flour, chicken bouillon granules, mustard, thyme and pepper.

3Add milk and water all at once.

4Cook and stir over medium-high heat until thickened and bubbly.

5Stir broccoli and cubed ham into saucepan.

6Return to boiling.

7Reduce heat; simmer for 4 to 6 minutes more or until broccoli is tender and the soup is heated through, stirring occasionally.

8Makes 4 servings.
