- 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen cut broccoli in cheese sauce
- 1 1/2 c. yellow corn meal
- 1/2 c. flour
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
- 1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 egg
- oil (for deep frying)
Directions

1Place unopened broccoli pouch in boiling water.

2Do not cover. Bring water to a second vigorous boil and heat for 18 minutes. Empty broccoli and cheese sauce into small bowl and cut broccoli using 2 knives into 1/2-inch pieces.

3In medium bowl, combine corn meal, flour, sugar, garlic salt, baking powder and salt.

4Stir in broccoli with cheese sauce, milk and egg; batter should be fairly thick.

5Allow batter to set 5 to 10 minutes.
