  • 2 c. raisins
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 c. flour, sifted
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Mix and cool the raisins, oleo and boiling water.

    Add soda, eggs and vanilla.

    Add flour, sugar and salt.

    Add walnuts and vanilla.

    Grease 5 or 6 No. 2 cans or bread pans.

    Fill 1/2 full. Bake at 300° for 30 minutes.

    Then at 325° for another 30 minutes. Remove pans from oven.

    Let stand 10 minutes.

    Invert pans to remove.
