- 4 c. whole wheat flour
- 1 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 c. packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 4 tsp. soda
- 4 c. lo-fat buttermilk
- applesauce
Directions

1Combine flours, brown sugar, salt and soda in a large bowl. Add buttermilk gradually, mixing well after each addition.

2Add applesauce.

3Pour into 2 greased 5 x 9-inch loaf pans.

4Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until loaves test done.

5Invert onto wire rack. Slice and serve warm.

6Yields 24 servings.
