- 2 cups water
- 1 cup brown rice (I prefer short-grain)
- Salt, to taste
Directions

1Bring the water to a boil in a medium saucepan over high heat.

2Stir in the rice and reduce the heat to low.

3Cover the pan and simmer the rice for 40 minutes.

4Remove the pan from the heat and allow to stand for 5 minutes.

5Fluff the rice with a fork.

6Serve immediately, or allow to cool and refrigerate in a resealable plastic container or plastic bag for up to 5 days.
