  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup brown rice (I prefer short-grain)
  • Salt, to taste

Directions

    Bring the water to a boil in a medium saucepan over high heat.

    Stir in the rice and reduce the heat to low.

    Cover the pan and simmer the rice for 40 minutes.

    Remove the pan from the heat and allow to stand for 5 minutes.

    Fluff the rice with a fork.

    Serve immediately, or allow to cool and refrigerate in a resealable plastic container or plastic bag for up to 5 days.
