- 1 c. uncooked brown rice
- 1/2 to 1 tsp. salt (optional)
- 2 c. cold water
Directions

1Bring water to a boil.

2Add salt.

3Slowly add picked and thoroughly washed rice so that water continues to boil.

4Boil rice for one minute uncovered.

5Stir rice and put tight fitting lid on pot.

6Simmer for 45 minutes over medium heat.

7Do not remove lid until rice has cooked and saturate for 5 to 10 minutes.

8Fluff up rice with a fork and serve.

9Makes 3 cups.
