Ingredients
- 5 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 3 Tbsp. bacon fat
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced and separated into rings
- 1/2 c. water
- 2 medium potatoes (2 1/2 c., diced)
- 1 lb. can cream-style corn
- 2 c. milk
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- pepper to taste
- pat of butter
- 1 can corn Niblets or 1 c. frozen (optional)
Directions

1Fry bacon and set aside.

2Fry onion until tender in 3 tablespoons bacon fat.

3Add water and diced potatoes and cook until potatoes are tender (10 to 15 minutes).

4Add cream-style corn, corn, milk and seasonings.

5Heat to piping hot.

6Add pat of butter.

7Put some crumbled bacon in chowder; reserve the remainder to sprinkle on top, if desired.

8Serves 4 to 6.
