Brown sugar is just regular granulated white sugar combined with molasses.

Add molasses to sugar.

Mix together in a bowl until all the molasses are evenly combined.

Note: On March 9, 2012 in the supermarket where I reguarly shop (ShopRite in Rio Grande NJ), granulated white sugar is $.34/cup, light or dark brown sugar is $.77/cup and molasses are $.13/tablespoon.
