- 1 cup Brown sugar (packed cup)
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- 1/2 cup Flour
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Baking soda
- 1 1/2 cups Chopped walnuts
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line an 8 inch square pan with parchment paper or butter it.

2Beat egg, sugar, and vanilla in a medium sized bowl.

3In a separate bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients.

4Stir the flour mixture into the egg mixture.

5Fold in the chopped walnuts.

6Spread this evenly in the prepared pan.

7Bake for 18-20 minutes. They should still be soft when removed from the oven.

8Cut into 9 squares.
