  • 2 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 3 egg whites, stiffly beaten
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring

Directions

    Combine sugar and water.

    Boil to soft ball stage (236°); pour slowly, beating constantly, onto egg whites.

    Add flavoring. Continue beating until icing holds its shape when dropped from spoon.
