- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 34 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 12 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 12 cup chopped walnuts
- 34 cup packed brown sugar
- 14 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 12 cups boiling water
- vanilla ice cream (optional)
Directions

1Grease a 8x8x2-inch baking pan; set aside.

2In a medium bowl stir together the flour, granulated sugar, 2 tbls cocoa powder, the baking powder, and salt.

3Stir in the milk, oil, and vanilla.

4Stir in the walnuts.

5Pour batter into prepared baking pan.

6In a small bowl stir together the brown sugar and the 1/4 cup cocoa powder;

7Stir in the boiling water.

8Slowly pour water mixture over batter.

9Bake in a 350 degree oven for 40 minutes.

10Cool on a wire rack for 45 to 60 minutes.

11Serve warm.

12Spoon cake into dessert bowls; spoon sauce over cake.
