Ingredients

  • 3 whole chickens (about 3 1/2 lb. each), boned and ground (skin and all)
  • 5 lb. beef chuck, ground
  • 2 lb. pork, ground
  • 2 Tbsp. salt, pepper and red pepper to taste
  • 8 (14 oz.) cans tomatoes
  • 2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen okra, chopped
  • 12 ears of corn
  • 2 lemons, 1 sliced and 1 squeezed and strained
  • dash of sugar

Directions

    Bone and grind all the meats and put in large heavy metal pot. Cut corn off the cobs and add corn, okra and tomatoes to meat mixture.

    Put the lemon slices and the juice in the pot and stir well.

    Cook slowly over low heat for 24 hours, adding salt and peppers to taste.

    Hot sauce may be added if desired.

    Some folks like a dash of sugar.

    Serves a bunch!
