- 1 cake yeast, dissolved in 1/4 c. water
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- approximately 1 lb. smoked sausage
- 3 1/2 to 4 c. flour
Directions

1Scald milk; cool to lukewarm.

2Add dissolved yeast, sugar, egg and salt.

3Add flour to make a soft dough.

4Let raise until double in size.

5Punch dough and divide.
-
6Put one layer of dough in well-greased 9 x 13 x 2-inch pan.

7Cover with sausage (make sure there is plenty of sausage); add another layer of dough.

8Let raise 30 to 45 minutes.

9Bake at 350° for at least one hour until well browned.

10Try this with fruit salad for a fall or winter supper.
