- 1 loaf French or Italian bread, sliced in half lengthwise
- butte ro margarine
- salt and pepper
- grated cheese (your choice)
Directions

1Place bread on cookie sheet or jelly roll pan.

2Cut sides up. Spread butter or margarine on each half.

3Salt and pepper to taste.

4Sprinkle both halves with cheese.

5Place under broiler until cheese bubbles.

6Cut into slices while hot and serve immediately.
