- 1 cake yeast or 1/5 household yeast
- 1/2 c. lukewarm water
- 1 c. white flour
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. soda
- 2 to 4 tsp. melted butter
- 2 c. cold water
- 2 c. buckwheat flour
- 2 tsp. molasses or syrup
- 1/2 c. hot water
Directions

1The night before, dissolve the yeast in 1/2 cup lukewarm water. Sift the white flour and the buckwheat flour with the salt.

2Blend the mixture.

3In the morning, take out 1 cup of batter for a starter.

4Then add molasses or syrup, soda, hot water and melted butter.

5Then dissolve the syrup and soda in the hot water and butter.
