Ingredients
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tsp. fresh ginger, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 c. mirin (cooking sake)
- 6 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp. crushed toasted sesame seed
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. sesame oil
- 1 1/2 lb. lean beef
Directions

1Put sesame seed in frying pan over medium heat.

2Shake pan frequently.

3Seeds will turn light brown in 2 to 3 minutes. Remove seeds and crush.

4Cut beef across the grain into long thin (1/8-inch thick) slices.

5In a bowl, mix all ingredients together except steak.

6Add meat to mixture last and marinate at least 2 hours.

7Remove meat from marinade and grill about 4 inches above solid bed of glowing coals.

8Serve over fried or white rice.

9This recipe will not taste the same if the meat is not grilled.
