- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 c. boiling water
- 1 c. warm water
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 2 well-beaten eggs
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
Directions

1Cream together first 4 ingredients.

2Let cool.

3Mix together the next three ingredients and set aside.

4When the sugar, salt, shortening and water mixture cools, add 2 cups of the flour and the eggs.

5Stir well and add the yeast mixture.

6Gradually add the other 4 cups of flour and stir well.

7Cover and allow to rise 45 minutes.

8Punch down at this point.

9The dough may be refrigerated (well) covered, 1 or 2 days.
