- 1 pt. whipping cream
- 4 egg yolks
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- granulated sugar (for the topping)
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Heat cream over low heat until bubbles form around edge of pan.

3Beat egg yolks and sugar together until thick, about 3 minutes.

4Gradually beat cream into egg yolks. Stir in vanilla and pour into 6 (6 ounce) custard cups.

5Place custard cups in baking pan that has about 1/2 inch water in the bottom.

6Bake until set, about 45 minutes.

7Remove custard cups from water and refrigerate until chilled.

8Sprinkle each custard with about 2 teaspoons sugar.

9Place on top rack under broiler and cook until topping is medium brown.

10Chill before serving.
