- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/4 c. light corn syrup
- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 1 3/4 c. finely chopped blanched almonds
- 1 1/4 c. grated milk chocolate (5 oz. bar)
- 1 c. finely chopped walnuts
Directions

1In large heavy pan, cook over medium heat first 5 ingredients, stirring constantly until a teaspoon of syrup in cold water forms a brittle mass (285°).

2At end of cooking time syrup will be thick and amber color.

3Be careful not to scorch.

4Keep heat low.

5Pour at once into jelly roll pan (15 x 10 x 1-inch).

6Spread evenly. Cool 5 minutes.

7Then sprinkle with grated milk chocolate (5 ounce bar) in even layer.

8When heat has melted chocolate spread, then pat and sprinkle with finely chopped walnuts in even layer.

9Break into pieces.

10Makes 2 pounds of crunch.
