- 2/3 c. butter or margarine
- 1 1/3 c. sugar
- 2 eggs (unbeaten)
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Cream butter and sugar until smooth and fluffy.

2Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

3Sift dry ingredients together; add alternately with milk and vanilla.

4Bake in a greased and floured loaf pan (9 1/2 x 5 1/2-inch) at 325° for 1 1/2 hours.

5Cool pan 5 minutes; turn out on rack until cold.
