  • 1 cube butter
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1 c. water

Directions

    Cook in heavy pan.

    Melt butter on medium heat.

    Add sugar and water.

    Turn heat to high and stir until ingredients come to a hard boil.

    Remove silver spoon and place thermometer in candy. Cook to about 260° or when the candy turns slightly golden. Remove from heat and pour onto buttered marble slab.

    Cool; stretch.

    Add 20 drops of peppermint oil.
  8. 8
    Stretch until it loses its glossy look.

    Cut and put in sealed container.
