Butter Nut Crunch

Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1 1/2 c. walnuts, chopped fine
  • 2 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate, melted
  • 1/2 c. butter

Directions

    Combine sugar, salt, water and butter.

    Heat to boiling.

    Cook to light crack stage, 285°.

    Add 1/2 cup nuts.

    Pour into well greased cookie sheet; cool.

    Spread half of chocolate over top and sprinkle with 1/2 cup walnuts.

    Spread second half chocolate over nuts and then sprinkle with remaining nuts.

    Break into pieces to serve.

    Makes about 2 dozen pieces.
