Butter Pecan Cake

  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1/2 c. butter flavored Crisco
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 2 c. plain flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 Tbsp. butter flavoring
  • 1 c. chopped pecans
  • 5 egg whites, stiffly beaten

Directions

    Cream butter, Crisco and margarine.

    Add sugar and egg yolks and beat well.

    Add sifted flour and soda.

    Add buttermilk and flavoring.

    Beat well and stir in pecans.

    Fold in egg whites. Pour into three greased and floured 9-inch cake pans.

    Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.

    Cool and put Cream Cheese Icing on cake.
