- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 c. milk, scalded
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 1/4 to 3 1/2 c. flour
- 1 beaten egg
Directions

1Soften yeast in warm water.

2Combine hot milk, shortening, sugar and salt; cool to lukewarm.

3Add 1 cup flour; beat well. Beat in softened yeast and egg.

4Gradually add remaining flour to form a soft dough, beating well.

5Brush lightly with soft shortening.

6Cover; let rise in warm place until double, about 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

7Divide dough in half, then divide each half into about 12 equal pieces.

8Place in greased muffin pans.

9Cover and let rise in warm place until double.

10Bake at 375° until brown, about 20 minutes.
