Butter Toffee Brunch Cake

  • 1/2 cup Land O Lakes Butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk*
  • 1 Land O Lakes Egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 3/4 cup English toffee bits**

    Heat oven to 350F.

    Grease and flour 13x9 inch baking pan; set aside.

    Combine butter, sugar and brown sugar in bowl.

    Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy.

    Add flour; beat at low speed until well mixed.

    Reserve 1/2 cup for topping.

    Add buttermilk, egg, baking soda and vanilla to remaining flour mixture.

    Continue beating until well mixed.

    Pour batter into prepared pan.
