Ingredients
- 1/2 c. Crisco shortening
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 Tbsp. milk
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 4 c. sifted confectioners sugar
Directions

1Cream butter and shortening with an electric mixer.

2Add vanilla.

3Gradually add sugar, one cup at a time, beating well on medium speed.

4Scrape sides and bottom of bowl often.

5When all sugar has been mixed in, icing will appear dry.

6Add milk and beat at medium speed until light and fluffy.

7Keep icing covered until ready to use.

8Can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2 weeks.

9Re-whip before using.

10Makes 3 cups.
