- 1/2 c. egg whites
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 to 2 c. shortening
- 1/2 lb. powdered sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Heat the egg whites and sugar in double boiler to 150°. Transfer to a very large bowl and beat to a meringue.

2Cream the shortening and powdered sugar in largest mixing bowl.

3Add half of the meringue.

4Mix.

5Now add rest of meringue and beat a few minutes.

6Flavor and color to suit.

7I flavor with 1 teaspoon vanilla and use on a white cake.

8Tastes just like a wedding cake.
