- 1/2 cup vegetable shortening unsoftened
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 cups confectioners sugar sifted
- 2 tablespoons milk
Directions

1With an electric mixer beat together the shortening, butter, and vanilla until light and fluffy.

2Gradually add sugar, one cup at a time, beating well on medium speed. Scrape sides and bottom of bowl often. When all sugar has been mixed in, icing will appear dry.

3Gradually add milk; beat at medium speed until light and fluffy.

4Spread on cake or cupcakes and enjoy!!!
