  • 2 12 cups apple cider
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 36 whole allspice berries
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick, broken into small pieces
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 6 tablespoons dark rum

    Boil first 6 ingredients in heavy small saucepan 5 minutes.

    Remove from heat.

    Add butter and stir to melt.

    Strain into 2 warm mugs.

    Add half of rum to each.
