  • 1 c. soft shortening (half butter)
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1 2/3 c. sifted flour (plain)
  • 2/3 c. chopped nuts
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Mix ingredients together thoroughly.

    Drop by tablespoon onto floured board.

    Roll with hand.

    Cut into finger lengths and bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 300° for 20 minutes or until brown. Remove from pan with a spatula and roll in sifted confectioners sugar.

    Be careful when you take the cookies from the oven as they will break easily.
