- 2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 heaping tsp. baking powder
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 3/4 to 1 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Preheat oven to 450°.

2Sift dry ingredients together in large mixing bowl.

3With a fork, mix in shortening well.

4Stir in enough milk to form a soft dough.

5Knead gently for 30 seconds. If dough is too moist, add flour.

6Form dough into 10 balls; flatten and place on baking sheet.

7Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.

8Serve hot with butter.

9Makes 10 to 12 biscuits.
