  • 4 large eggs or 4 medium eggs
  • 1 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 2 3/4 c. sugar
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • vanilla (if desired)

Directions

    Cream the butter and sugar well. Add eggs, one at a time.

    Add soda to buttermilk and then add to sugar mixture alternately with flour.

    Bake at 315° for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
