  • 1/2 c. Crisco shortening
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 1/4 w. White Lily self-rising flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 2 Tbsp. vanilla flavor
  • 1 Tbsp. almond flavor

Directions

    Combine shortening, sugar and flour with buttermilk.

    Mix well with electric beater until creamy, then add eggs.

    Beat well, adding flavoring.

    Bake in a stem pan or a sheet cake pan at 350° for 1 hour.

    Let cool 5 minutes; turn out on a cake dish.
