  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 c. nuts (optional)

Directions

    Mix dry ingredients well, then add butter, egg yolks and buttermilk until all is well mixed.

    Fold in egg whites last. Bake in loaf pan at 350° for 40 to 50 minutes or until knife test comes out clean.
