- 1 c. white cornmeal
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 c. buttermilk or soured milk
- 2 Tbsp. hot oil or shortening
Directions

1Combine dry ingredients.

2Add egg and buttermilk.

3Mix well. Last, add hot oil.

4Mix and pour quickly into greased 9-inch square baking pan.

5Bake at 450° for 20 to 25 minutes.
