  • 1 1/3 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 eggs, separated
  • 4 to 5 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
