  • 1/2 c. butter (1 stick), softened
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. flour (all-purpose)
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. crushed pecans or walnuts
  • 1 unbaked deep dish pie shell
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 4 eggs

Directions

    Cream all ingredients except eggs and pecans.

    Once creamed, beat eggs into mixture, one at a time.

    When batter is smooth, pour into pie shell.

    Sprinkle pecans or walnuts on top.

    Bake for 1 1/2 hours or until firm at 300°.

    Do not overcook.
