- 1 (10-inch) unbaked pie shell
- 1 c. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3 eggs, separated
- 1/2 c. melted butter
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Heat oven to 425°.

2Chill pie shell.

3Mix together sugar, salt and flour.

4Add egg yolks which have been slightly beaten.

5Add buttermilk, butter and flavoring.

6Blend well.

7Beat egg whites until they peak when beaten.

8Then fold into custard mixture. Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake for 10 minutes, then lower heat to 325° for 30 minutes or until pie is firm.
