  • 6 whole Eggs
  • 1 cup Butter, Softened
  • 3 cups Sugar
  • 1/2 cups Flour
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 2 whole Unbaked Pie Crusts

Directions

    Beat eggs separately, beating until eggs are blended but not foamy.

    Cream together butter and sugar. Add all ingredients together (except pie crust) and stir until blended. You will have some chunks of butter in the batter, but that is fine.

    Pour half of the batter into each pie shell. Bake at 325 degrees until a toothpick inserted in the pie comes out clean, about 45-60 minutes. Makes 2 pies.

    This is an old recipe. I remember my grandmother talking about HER grandmother making these pies. They are a family holiday favorite.
