- 1 stick oleo
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 1/2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 3 1/2 c. plain flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1 Tbsp. hot water
- 1 1/4 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Put soda in hot water.

2Mix with buttermilk.

3Set aside. Cream oleo, shortening and sugar.

4Add eggs, one at a time.

5Add flour and salt.

6Mix well.

7Add lemon juice.

8Add buttermilk mixture.

9Bake in greased and floured tube pan at 325° for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
