Buttermilk Pound Cake

  • 1 c. butter, softened
  • 2 3/4 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 3/4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1/2 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

    In large bowl, cream butter;

    add sugar gradually, beating until light.

    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Stir flour and soda.

    Add to creamed mixture alternately, with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour.

    Blend in flavorings. Place batter in greased and floured 10 inch tube pan.

    Bake at 300 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes, or until done.

    Do not over bake.
