- 1 pkg. compressed yeast
- 2 c. lukewarm buttermilk
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. melted margarine
- 4 c. flour
- 3 c. whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 beaten egg
- 4 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp. each: soda, baking powder
Directions

1Break yeast into buttermilk.

2Let stand a few minutes and add sugar and melted margarine, salt and beaten egg.

3Sift flour with soda and baking powder and add to yeast mixture, alternating with whole wheat flour.

4Add extra flour if needed.

5Knead well and place in greased bowl.

6Let rise to double in size.

7Form into rolls and let double in size.

8Bake in hot 400° oven until light brown on top.
