Buttermilk Rolls

  • 1 cake compressed yeast
  • 2 c. buttermilk
  • 2 Tbsp. salad oil
  • 3 c. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. flour

Directions

    Soften yeast in small amount of buttermilk heated to lukewarm. Add remaining buttermilk and salad oil.

    Beat in the 3 cups of flour; add sugar mixed with salt, soda and baking powder.

    Add remaining cup of flour and knead on lightly floured surface. Grease top of dough and place in refrigerator until ready for use. About 2 hours before baking, form into rolls.

    Let rise 1 1/2 hours.

    Bake at 400° to 425° for 20 minutes.

    Makes 24 rolls.
