- 2 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 qt. buttermilk, warmed
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 eggs
- oil (for frying)
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 2 tsp. salt
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 8 c. flour
Directions

1Soften the yeast in warm water.

2Pour warm buttermilk into a large warm bowl.

3Add the sugar, eggs, oil, salt, baking powder and baking soda; mix well.

4Add the softened yeast and mix.

5Add 4 cups of flour and beat until smooth.

6Add the remaining 4 cups of flour to make dough soft.

7Cover; let the dough rise in a warm place about 1 hour or until double in bulk.

8Punch the dough down to its original size.

9Cover and refrigerate overnight.
