  • 2 cups sugar (save 1/4 cup for egg whites)
  • 3 cups plain White Lily flour
  • 1/8 tsp. soda
  • 2 round tsp. baking powder
  • Dash of salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 5 egg whites whipped with 1/4 cup sugar

    Sift together flour, salt, baking powder, and soda.

    Then fold in egg white. Bake in layer pans until done.
